Live Cassettes EP

Glaswegian indie rockers PETTY CASSETTES have released a 3-track EP called 'LIVE CASSETTES'. It was recorded at RoddyMacAudio Studios in Clydebank, the first track 'TONIC WINE' can be seen below - filmed by Neil McKenzie @KeepitCreative.
Whilst recently supporting a Beastie Boys tribute act, where the gig ended with the audience storming the stage, playing the Talkin' about a Revolution event at Drygate Brewery which also featured some great artists including Carly Connor and Esperanza, performing their first gig in Edinburgh supporting Dundee-based indie band Carousel and being able to carve their name in the walls of the legendary Paisley music venue The Bungalow... 2020 has been an eventful year so far.

The newly released LIVE CASSETTES EP conveys exactly what the band are all about: solid licks, strong vocals and honest lyrics. Track 1, Tonic Wine is an upbeat guitar-driven classic rock song which tells the story of lead singer, David Philliskirk, and his love for drinking Buckfast with his mates. Track 2 It's Nice is complimented by some exemplary guitar work by Robert Chirnside and bearing in mind this a live take plaudits go to drummer Ciaran Gallagher for holding the tempo up throughout. The final track Comedy Show has a slight air of melancholy with words & music. The song does indeed provide some variety in terms of style from the band and finishes with a strong melodic Zeppelin-esk guitar solo. Available from all streaming services now.
