Adam Hattaway and the Haunters. With the combination of the name and the picture above it is understandable you may be slightly intimidated however I assure you this should certainly not be the case.
They are in fact a very pleasantly fervent indie rock band on the steady rise hailing from Christchurch, New Zealand. Ticking all the right boxes frontman Adam Hattaway oozes charisma and seems to have a great sense of humour (after watching the music video for 'Take Care of You' [below] you'll understand).
At times maintaining a soulful sound, AHATH create tunes that have a profound effect on the eardrums with crispy guitar riffs and superb lyrics. The most recent album 'Crying Lessons' is a work of art to be proud of from the kiwi band - with a bit of everything that one can dig.
'' I saw their music as being a direct line from such early R’n’B influences as Them, the Stones early albums. Genre based writing. Some soul touches, some early Beatles. Great stuff.'' - Delaney Davidson
Certainly there is something special with these guys I must admit - each song on Crying Lessons has a nice groove and could potentially be hit. Also listening to the album you must recognise the magnificent job of production achieved, this only helps you appreciate a great band.
Right now Adam & the boys are in the middle of touring NZ from top to bottom (or vice versa) but hopefully a European tour will be on the cards soon.
